The Shonai Thirty-three Kannon Pilgrimage is a Kannon pilgrimage route covering the Shonai region of Yamagata Prefecture (Tsuruoka City, Sakata City, Shonai Town, Yuza Town, Mikawa Town). This guide compiles a total of 35 locations, including the 33 sacred sites, plus the chief temple (Arasawa-ji Temple) and an extra temple (Kannon-ji Temple), in order of their numbering. Together with the Thirty-three Kannon of Mogami and Okitama, it forms the 'Yamagata Dewa Hyakukannon'.
