The "50 Famous Lighthouses of Japan" are 50 lighthouses selected by the Japan Coast Guard through a public vote on November 1, 1998, the 50th Lighthouse Memorial Day. This list compiles famous lighthouses standing on capes and islands across the country, categorized by region: Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kinki, Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu/Okinawa. Please use this for planning your coastal lighthouse tour.
